Going Well With Aaron

Posted in Prayer by Travis Snode on the 10 May, 2008

Here is what I just heard about Aaron from Austin Gardner.  He is not hurting due to all the pain medication that he is on. He gets about 3 different ones right now. He maybe allergic to one that he took this morning and so is feeling dizzy and nauseous.

The doctor says that the surgery was a success and that his recuperation is going just fine. He may even get to go home on Monday. His recuperation is going to take several weeks.

Thank you for continuing to pray for him.

Update on Aaron

Posted in Prayer by Travis Snode on the 8 May, 2008

Here is an update that I just received on Aaron.

Aaron made it through the surgery fine. The tumor was the size of a plum which is larger than they had expected. He will be staying in ICU to see if the lung is losing any oxygen and needs to be repaired.

Please continue to pray for him and when I hear anything further we will let you know.

Pray for Bro. Aaron

Aaron goes in for his surgery at 1.30 PM our time (Greenwich Mean Time) and 7.30 AM Easter Standard Time.  Please pray for him.  The surgery will 3-4 hours long.

Also, please pray for Bro. Cesar who is working in North Africa at the moment and keeping the ministry going.  He needs more financial support.  I would like for our church to be able to help him out on a regular basis.  If you want to give toward his support, please just play the money in an offering envelop and mark it for “Missions” or for “Bro. Cesar.”

Update on Bro. Aaron

Thanks for continuing to pray for Bro. Aaron.  I had the opportunity to speak with him on the phone yesterday.  I let him know we are praying.  Here is what Aaron had to say on his blog last night.
I went to the surgeon today and we have a plan. The surgery will be next Thursday at 7:30 am. They are going to go in through a 9 inch incision that will be made in my back between my ribs, separate to of my ribs and start to work on my right lung. They are going to need to surgically remove a section of my main bronchial tube and my middle lobe and possibly the lower lobe. The bronchial tube will be reatattched using a muscle that will be taken from my back to help it heal quickly. I am expecting to be in the hospital for 5 days. The surgeon classified this as a pretty major surgery so I would definitely appreciate your continued prayers especially on next Thursday. I haven’t been in the hospital for more than 10 years so this is all new to me. I am fully confident that my God knows where I am and will work all these things together for my good and His glory.

Again, so many people from all over the world have told me that they are praying for me. I would imagine that thousands of disciples of Christ know about this tumor and are praying. That is a huge source of strength for me. Pray for John Miller, the surgeon who will perform the surgery and for a quick recovery so we can return to North Africa. It looks like I will be able to be in North Africa for the last couple weeks that our summer interns will be there so I am excited about that. Keep praying!

Good Report for Our Friend

Posted in Prayer by Travis Snode on the 23 April, 2008

Our friend that we have been praying for received a good report yesterday about the tumor in his lung.  Thank you for keeping him in your prayers.  Here is what he wrote on his blog last night.

I just got back from the lung specialist (Pulmonologist) and have some news. The tumor that I have in my right lung is called a Carcinoid Tumor and it is benign. That’s great news. So I won’t be dying from this problem but we are going to have to take care of it. The Pulmonologist has been treating lungs for 25 years and has only seen this in two other occasions. The tumor has been growing in my right bronchial tube over the last year. It has caused my right lung to fill up with blood. They have removed some of the blood and are going to have to wait for the rest of the blood to be absorbed into lung before they can remove the tumor with a laser. That is what we are hoping anyway. I will hear back from the doctor tomorrow. She has told me that I won’t be able to travel back to North Africa for a couple months until they can get this tumor removed. So I am praying for the quickest possible solution. So we can praise the Lord that it is nothing malignant.

Update on Aaron

I don’t have much of an update on Aaron today.  I did call Mark Coffey who is up with him in Ohio at the moment to find out how they are doing.  They do not know anything further today, but they should find out something tomorrow.  Please continue to be in prayer.

Update on Aaron

I just found out that they say that he has a growth in his lung.  They do not know if it is a malignant or benign tumor. They will know something in a day or two. Please continue to pray. They are in room number 451 at the Atrium Hospital in Middletown, Ohio.

Please continue praying. The latest news is that it is a 50% chance that the growth is cancerous. The results will be in on Monday, Lord willing! Please continue to pray.

He will be released from the hospital later today and return on Monday for the results.

Pray for Our Friends From North Africa

Posted in Prayer by Travis Snode on the 18 April, 2008

I just got this update from Austin Gardner and wanted to ask you to be in special prayer.

Our friends landed in Cincinnati, Ohio yesterday from North Africa. They basically went straight to the hospital. Mark Coffey got a call and let me know that they made it. I am sure that it was a hard trip for our friend in his present condition.

We got a call last night from J, the wife, at 11:30. The husband was having test after test room all afternoon and night. She said that they had done more in one evening than would have been done in North Africa in a month. She was very tired obviously from the travel and no sleep.

The children are with her family and she was at the hospital as much as she could be. Though she did have to run errands to meet her husband’s needs and cravings.

They have run several tests and can not figure out what is happening. There are more tests taking place this morning. I was promised a call and will immediately post when I hear something.

Some of you may have later or better news than I do so if you do please be sure and add it in the comment section if you would.

To be honest with you I feel like we need to be specially praying. Something is wrong. They kept him at the hospital even when he was so exhausted after all the travel. They put him through a battery of tests. They do not know what it is or what to do.

Pray that God would give them wisdom. Pray that God would direct the doctors, touch his body, heal him and get him back into the work soon.

God bless each of you that have been so kind to comment and to call asking. They delight in knowing that you love them and are so concerned.

God bless each of you. I preached on Sincere Love for Other believers last night and I know that it is true of many of you towards this very special family.

God bless you so much.

Pray for Friends Who Work in North Africa

Posted in Prayer by Travis Snode on the 17 April, 2008

Please be in special prayer for our friends who work in North Africa.  Bro. Aaron has had a lung problem during the last few weeks.  The doctors are yet to figure out what the problem is.  They do know that one part of his lungs is collapsed but have no idea way.

He and his family will be flying in this week to Cinncinati to see a lung specialist.  If you know them, you know it is very hard for them to leave the field.

Just pray that they have safety in their travels and that the doctors are able to find and fix the problem as soon as possible.  You can contact them through their website.
