Get a Grip on Griping
That was the topic of Mrs. Stacey Howeth’s lesson today at the ladies fellowship. There were 9 ladies in attendance, and I heard they had a very nice time. Ladies, thank you for attending, and Mrs. Stacy, thank you for teaching.
Great Mother/Daughter Banquet
The Lord blessed the Mother/Daughter Banquet, as well as our service last night.
We had 16 ladies and daughters over age 11 there for the meal before the service. Marsha Smith sang and spoke to the ladies. I heard that everyone really enjoyed the meal and the word that Mrs. Smith brought.
The men did a great job serving the ladies and helping in the creche watching the children.
There were 30 folks in the service last night (8 of those folks were ladies from other churches). We also had a girl accept the Lord as her Saviour last night!
You can see a video of part of the night by clicking here.
Ladies Meeting
The church’s ladies meeting was last night at our house. God blessed with 5 ladies in attendance. 3 others would have been there but they had something else planned already. Next month it is going to be on the first Thursday of the month.
From what I heard, the ladies had a great time praying together, discussiong how to make time for God in a busy schedule, talking and planning for the missions conference and a ladies singing group, and then enjoying a chat and a cup of tea together.
I am grateful to my wife for her example and willingness to lead the ladies. I am so appreciative of all of the ladies in our church who work so hard to serve in so many ways.
Testimony from the Wife of our Missionary Speaker in October
Below is a testimony from the wife of our missionary speaker who will be coming in October for our World Evangelism Conference. They are trully an amazing couple, and I know you will enjoy them being here.
Respect is an Understatement.
I have been wanting to share this but I really haven’t been able to think of the right words to say. Before we came over here, I will not try hide the fact that I was scared. I was intimidated by what was in front of me. I felt so small and so helpless. I thought we would be hated and unwanted. I even let my mind entertain thought of all the horrible things that “could” happen to us. I made my self physically sick. Worry and fear- two things that don’t have a place in the victorious Christian life were taking over. After we got here and the Lord began a work in my heart everything was improving. I was learning to daily trust the Lord and not let myself think about anything “scary” or negative. Of course I had to learn to not watch Aljezeira News Station, and we quickly deleted all the propaganda channels.(There is one channel that shows nothing but Insurgents in Iraq killing American Soldiers and laughing about it. They just show it over and over again all day.) Yea, sick to your stomach doesn’t explain what I felt when I saw that. We erased that one as quick as possible. I had to eliminate as much negative as I could. But everyday I was growing daily more comfortable here.
Ruth Bell Graham
I thought the ladies might enjoy this presentation about Ruth Bell Graham, wife of Billy Graham.
