Update from Evan Williams

Here is an update I just received from Bro. Evan Williams, a missionary that we support to Honduras.  Please pray for their consulate date, their travels, and their preparations to leave for the field.

Here we go again!  Having finished the short trip up North to New York and N. Pennsylvania, we prepare for another Road trip, this time Deep South.  First, next Sunday, we will be in N. Virgina, then head down to Alabama for a missions conference there.  After that we come back up to BIMI in Tennessee, where we will have our final departure interview with our director Brother Terry Jones.  Then we hit the road once more to make it over to Chesapeake Virginia, for another missions conference, lasting until Oct. 22nd.  Then it is back up to Pennsylvanian for the 24th and 25th, when we hope to be packing and sending our Container.

Our consulate date has been put back again to this Friday and as this is the last day we are going to be in the area, before our projected date of shipping our container, you will realize how important it is that we are not postponed again.  Please make this a special item for prayer.  We know that our God is in control of everything and we rest in that assurance, for example due to the last postponement a dentist in the area, were we where at the time, was able to attend us and both Carmen and I were able to get necessary fillings, which he did free of charge.  Praise God for that.  We just wait to see what God is doing this time.

Once more, thank you for all your love, support and prayers.  We praise God for all of you.  God bless.

Wesley Crawford Preaching Thursday

We are honoured to have Pastor Wesley Crawford preach for us on this Thursday at 7.30 PM.  Bro. Crawford is pastor of Poytzpass Baptist Church.  He is originally from Northern Ireland and has been in the ministry for many years as a pastor, missionary to Eastern Europe, and preacher.  I hope that you will join us this Thursday for a great time of preaching and a time of fellowship after the service.  I know that you will receive a blessing!

Grandparent’s Day

Today we honoured all the grandparents who were with us in the service.  We had 28 folks in the service with 1 first time visitor.  We had a great time.  We showed a video of the young people saying what they appreciated about their grandparents.  The video is below.

295

We did 295 new homes today with leaflets from our church!  We are 19,367 total.  Our goal is 33,000 homes.

Every Home Crusade

Since July 2007, we have been working to get the gospel to every one of the 33,000 homes in our city.  Below you can see a copy of the thermometer that we set up at the back of the church with maps and literature to help us stay focused on our goal.  We are trying to finish this by December of this year, so we have 14,000 homes to do in 15 weeks, which is about 1,000 homes/week.

I hope that you will commit to helping us with this project.  I know that God will bless you for obeying His command to “preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).  Basically, if 5 people would commit to doing 200 homes/week until the end of the year, then we could easily finish our goal.  That would mean those five people would need to go out 2 days for 1 hour/day, because you can just about put 100 leaflets through 100 doors in an hour.

Meeting in Dublin with Paul Chappell

I was invited along with some other men around the country to go to a meeting with Dr. Paul Chappell from Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, CA, who is visiting Bro. Jerome Pittman.  I am looking forward to hearing from Bro. Chappell and meeting some with some of the other men around the country.  I will leave this morning and get back late tonight.

Great Service Last Night

We had a great time last night with Bro. Don Randall, Sr. preaching for us on the topic of “Why?”  It was encouraging and challenging to hear him talking about the different the Paul and Silas made in a the life of a jailor, his family, and many prisoners all because of their praising and suffering punishment with joy and trust in God.  I hope that others will see the Saviour when they see us His saints.

Bro. Randall and his wife have been serving the Lord here in Northern Ireland for the past 30 years.  They have been faithful through the years and the trials, and their example is an inspiration to me and to all who are serving the Lord.  Please be in pray for them in the days ahead.  It was also a blessing to have the Don and Merlynn and their children and Jerry Randall with us.

I like this guy’s convictions

I just read this article about Kirk Cameron and how even as an actor performing in a film he would not kiss anyone but his wife.  I like the stand he takes that may seem “backward” in our world.  I like his desire to honour and obey God rather than compromise his convictions.

Online Sermons

We continue to upload audio recordings of the messages preached at our church to our website.  You can view the following messages from the book of Joshua here:

“Be Strong and Courageous” (Joshua 1:1-10)
“The Scarlet Line” (Joshua 2:1-24)
“Crossing the Jordan” (Joshua 3:1-6,14-17)
“Faith Is The Victory” (Joshua 3:7-13)

Guest Preachers

We have three guest preachers who will be coming to preach for us on the next couple of Thursday evenings.  I hope that you will make plans to join us at 7:30 PM at 10 Fountain St for a blessing and a challenge from the Word of God.

Thursday, 25 September – DON RANDALL, Sr.

Bro. Don Randall has been a missionary pastor and church planter here in Northern Ireland for the last 29 years.  He has truly been faithful to the work that God has called him to, and I am sure that you will be blessed to hear Him preach the Word of God to us.  We will enjoy a cup of tea together after the service.

Thursday, 2 October – WESLEY CRAWFORD

Wesley is from Northern Ireland and has been a preacher, missionary, and pastor for many years.  He is currently pastor of the Baptist Church in Poyntzpass.  It is an honour to have him come preach for us, and I hope that you will join us for a real blessing.
